Tables, inscriptions, and music, 1777-1809, n.d.

The collection is comprised of: a table of the sun's longitude taken at Monticello over the course of a year, with comparative observations on the winds at Monticello and Williamsburg from 19 June 1778 to 30 April 1779 and weather conditions at Monticello from 1777-1796 on the verso; and a table, 1790-1809, of mileages between Monticello and Georgetown (Washington, D.C.). Also included is an inscription, 1782, for the tomb of Jefferson's wife, Martha, with a quote in Greek from the Iliad and on the verso instructions for construction; a sketch, 1782, for a monument with a quote in Latin on human suffering on the verso; manuscript music, n.d.; and a copy, n.d., in Virginia Randolph Trist's hand, of Thomas Jefferson's deathbed "adieu" to his daughter Martha Jefferson Randolph.
